Black Friday 2026: price adjustment deadlines by store
Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026 (Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26; Cyber Monday is Monday, November 30). If a price drops after you buy, these are the last days to ask under each store's standard published window. Holiday terms for 2026 can still change; we update this page when a store posts them.
Holiday notes, store by store
- Target: we re-read Target's Price Match Guarantee page on October 19, 2026. It shows the standard rule (Target's own lower price, within 14 days after purchase) and no 2026 holiday terms yet. Last year Target ran a Holiday Price Match Guarantee from November 1 through December 24, 2025 (Target fact sheet, October 2025; read October 19, 2026). That 2025 offer is not a promise for 2026.
- Best Buy: its price match excludes competitor offers marked as Black Friday pricing and items on sale from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after. Best Buy's own lower price can be matched during the return and exchange period, which starts when you receive the item: 15 days, or 60 for paid My Best Buy Plus / Total members (read October 17, 2026).
- Walmart: no published post-purchase adjustment. Its returns policy (read October 17, 2026) gives extended holiday returns for most items bought October 1 through December 31, returnable until January 31. A return and re-buy is the usual fallback; check the exceptions on Walmart's page.
- Kohl's: 14 days from the receipt date, but Kohl's says it may block price adjustments during some periods (read October 17, 2026). Ask early.
- Event prices excluded: Apple excludes special sales events such as Black Friday; Staples excludes Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales; Home Depot excludes purchases made during promotional events; Academy excludes timed events (all read October 17, 2026). More in common sale exclusions.
- Delivery-based windows: Best Buy and Apple count from when you receive the item, so a slow holiday delivery can move the deadline later. Use the calculator with your delivery date.
Last day to ask, by purchase date
Dates are the purchase (or delivery) date plus the store's window in calendar days, the same math as our calculator. Stores count differently and some include the day of sale, so ask a day early. If a store's start point is delivery, the dates assume you received the item the same day.
